Ramsay Reveals Family Rift
Gordon Ramsay has slammed his father-in-law for going public about their bitter feud, insisting the "provocative" revelations "will only compound a family rift".
Chris Hutcheson, the father of the Hell's Kitchen star's wife Tana, stepped down as CEO of the celebrity chef's business empire last month (Oct10), sparking rumours of a fallout.
Hutcheson has since gone public about his feelings for Ramsay in a British newspaper interview, branding the TV chef "manic", and adding: "His mood swings are huge. I have dealt with his breakdowns for a number of years. I have had him sat in front of me bursting into tears."
But Ramsay and his wife have reacted with fury at his claims - revealing the depths of the ongoing rift between themselves and Hutcheson.
A statement from the couple's representative reads, "Gordon and Tana are shocked and saddened by Chris' actions. It has been made very clear to Chris why his position with the company had become untenable. As far as Gordon and Tana are concerned this is a private business and family matter and they won't be responding publicly.
"The provocative and disingenuous tone of Chris' comments will only compound a family rift which the Ramsays hope can be healed with time."
Ramsay has suffered severely in the recent economic downturn and in 2009 was forced to pump $8 million (£5 million) of his own money into his businesses in a last-ditch bid to keep afloat amid mounting tax bills sent to his company, Gordon Ramsay Holdings.
