Blur headlined the Olympics closing ceremony concert in London's Hyde Park with a mammoth set last night (13.08.12).

The Britpop legends performed some of their biggest hits for the sell-out crowd, including 'Girls & Boys', 'Country House', 'Song 2' and 'This Is A Low'.

Actor Phil Daniels joined the four-piece on stage for their track 'Parklife' accompanied by comedian Harry Enfield, who was dressed as a tea lady.

Singer Damon Albarn confessed before the gig the band - also comprised of guitarist Graham Coxon, bassist Alex James and drummer Dave Rowntree - were only paid £300 to close the two weeks' of BT London Live shows, which have allowed fans to watch the Olympics and see live music.

Damon said: ''Guess how much they're paying us? £300. When you divide that between four and add publishing, management and tax, it's about a quid. But that's not why you agree to do it.''

Despite the small sum, Damon didn't hesitate to accept the headline slot because it was a chance for him and his bandmates to be part of the Celebration of The Games.

He added: ''It gives us a chance to play to a lot of people in London. In the sense of the Olympics it's nice to get involved and celebrate this amazing city. Everyone's feeling pretty good about London and I'm there with that because I love this city.''

The band finished with 'End of a Century', 'For Tomorrow' and 'The Universal'.

Earlier in the day, The Specials performed, belting out classics such as 'Too Much Too Young' and 'A Message to You, Rudy', as well as New Order who played a crowd-pleasing set list which featured 'True Faith', Blue Monday' and a reworking of JOY DIVISION's 'Love Will Tear Us Apart'.
