Grease star Olivia Newton-John has tipped country singer Taylor Swift to lead a possible remake of the 1978 classic.
The Grammy Award-winning star played Sandy Olsson opposite John Travolta's Danny Zuko in the popular movie musical and now, as films such as Footloose and Dirty Dancing are modernised for new audiences, Newton-John has publicly given her blessing for Swift to fill her shoes if a Grease remake ever comes into fruition.
She says, "I'm sure they'll try (a remake), and I think it would probably do well because people would be curious... I'm sure they'll do it, and they'll do an updated version, and it'll be great.
"Lately, I've thought Taylor Swift could probably (fill my spot), because she's very talented."
However, the I Honestly Love You hitmaker hasn't given up hope on passing the part to her 26-year-old daughter Chloe, adding, "I've always thought she could (do it)."
Swift, who recently starred in animated movie Dr. Seuss' The Lorax, has been transitioning into acting as of late - she previously starred in romantic comedy Valentine's Day, and is reportedly in negotiations to play Joni Mitchell in upcoming film Girls Like Us.
