Goo Goo Dolls have released their new album 'Something For The Rest Of Us' today (August 31st 2010). The band have been working with TIM PALMER, producer of U2 and David Bowie, as well as BUTCH VIG, producer of Nirvana and Green Day, and their latest release marks the group's first batch of new material since the 2006 album, 'Let Love In'.
In a recent interview with SoundSpike, frontman JOHNNY RZEZNIK spoke about the inspiration behind 'Something For The Rest Of Us', he said, "The things I wanted to address were the emotional impact of the uncertain times that we live in - more on a personal level than making some grand political or social statement. The best way I can put it is: It's about people who are trying to hang on to their humanity during a time when it's getting harder and harder to stay human."
GOO GOO DOLLS are currently on an eighteen date US tour, which ends on October 30th 2010 in Salamanca - the band will then travel to the UK, to play eight shows. As well as playing tracks from the new album, Rzeznik and co are also treating fans to some of their biggest hits, including, 'Iris', and 'Slide'.
