Rockers GUNS N' ROSES are so unhappy with their record label's plans to release a GREATEST HITS package, they're reportedly suing to keep the album off shelves.

GEFFEN RECORDS bosses plan to release the Greatest Hits project on 23 March (04), but the band are desperate to block it.

Meanwhile, the group, which revolves around original member Axl Rose, will return to the live stage on 30 May (04) at the ROCK IN RIO-LISBON FESTIVAL in Portugal. It will mark their first live appearance since a 2002 comeback tour ended in disaster with 13 dates remaining.

There's still no fixed date for the release of the group's long-awaited CHINESE DEMOCRACY album.
