Gwyneth Paltrow made Antonio Berardi's dress ''iconic''.

The 40-year-old actress made jaws drop in the designer's sheer floor-length gown at the 'Iron Man 3' premiere in Los Angeles on Wednesday night (24.04.13).

Although the racy design meant she couldn't wear underwear to the event, Antonio thinks she pulled off the piece without making it look ''vulgar''.

He told Grazia magazine: ''Gwyneth manages to bridge the gap of glamour and modernity. She makes things look iconic!

''I adore the side panels in this dress - they make everything a suggestion; just a flash of a curve, and a hint of leg movement, embodying a sensuality without any vulgarity.''

Inspired by architect Oscar Niemeyer's work, the British designer aims to create ''pieces that celebrate dramatic silhouettes, whilst in-keeping with my love for hourglass aesthetic.''

Antonio is all about keeping his collections ''modern'' and doesn't restrict his clothes to the red carpet.

He added: ''Although they do lend themselves perfectly! I really look to create pieces with a point of view, which embody my signature style whilst expressing modernity.''

Other famous fans of his handiwork include Nicole Richie, Sarah Jessica Parker and Frieda Pinto.
