Gwyneth Paltrow is very proud of her children for getting the school bus on their own.
The Hollywood star's two kids, daughter Apple, 10, and son Moses, eight, have just gone back to elementary school and for the first time she is letting her offspring make their way unsupervised.
Gwyneth insists her kids - who she raises with estranged husband Chris Martin - are as excited about it as she is.
During an appearance on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live', she said: ''It was great! They seemed really happy. They got off the bus and they were smiling. They have backpacks! This is their first year on the bus. They take the bus and then I pick them up at the bus stop. It's pretty cute. They feel very independent.''
The 41-year-old actress says the school Apple and Moses attend is much better than the learning facility she was sent to.
However, the Oscar winner claims the teachers didn't believe in traditional classroom methods and she didn't learn much.
She said: ''I went to a school here in California. This is a long time ago and now the school is a really good school and it's a very reputable school. I mean, it was great - I had fun. But I didn't learn anything. We used to meditate in the mornings, and then we had one teacher who was really into that song 'Sexual Healing' by Marvin Gaye, and she would play it - this is fifth grade! The meditation was every morning in fourth grade, but in fifth grade every morning, we came in to 'Sexual Healing' and we would dance and stuff.
''We didn't really learn math or reading or anything. We had this awesome emotional movement class where our movement teacher would bang a tambourine and she would say, 'Every time I bang the tambourine, make a shape toe express your feelings.' So we had a great time! Then I moved to New York City and went to a real school and was like a moron for two years!''
