Hailee Steinfeld has been cast in 'For The Dogs'.

The 'True Grit' actress is set to join Sam Worthington in Phillip Noyce's new action thriller, Deadline is reporting.

The 16-year-old starlet will play precocious teenager Ella, who convinces troubled assassin Lucas (Worthington) to help her take revenge on the people who murdered her parents and younger brother.

While she is determined to achieve vengeance at all costs, Lucas has his own personal quest for absolution to contend with.

Paul Leydon first adapted the movie from Kevin Wignall's 2007 novel, while Paul Leyden is credited with penning the final script.

Leyden - who bought the rights out of his own pocket - is also set to produce alongside Anthony Rhulen and Navid McIlhargey for FilmEngine Entertainment and Worthington, John Schwarz and Michael Schwarz for Full Clip Productions.

Steinfeld has made a name for herself with revenge dramas, including her breakout role as Mattie Ross in 2010 western 'True Grit', which saw her play a tough teen who hires a ruthless sheriff to seek vengeance for her father's murder.

She was subsequently nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress and a BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.

Steinfeld will next star in 'Ender's Game' and 'Romeo and Juliet' as well as '3 Days To Kill' opposite Kevin Costner.
