Actress Halle Berry has named her new baby daughter Nahla Ariela Aubry.
The Oscar-winner gave birth at the weekend, her first child with model boyfriend Gabriel Aubry.
And the Monster's Ball star has chosen an Arabic name for her child, according to People.
The entertainment magazine quotes Michael D Cooperson, an associate professor of Arabic at UCLA in California as saying that Nahla means 'honeybee'.
The 41-year-old actress, twice previously married, told Access Hollywood her daughter's name was a last-minute decision.
"We didn't have a name picked out until just before we left the hospital," she said.
"For us it was hard to name the most important person in our life until we met her."
Berry was married to former baseball player David Justice from 1992 to 1996, with the pressures of their respective careers leading to the breakup of the marriage, before her four-year marriage to musician Eric Benet ended in 2001 due to Benet's alleged infidelity.
She met French-Canadian model Aubry, 32, in December 2005, while filming a Versace commercial in Los Angeles.
After six months with Aubry, she told More.com: "I'm really happy in my personal life - which is a novelty to me. You know, Im not the girl that has the best relationships."
Berry was last seen on UK screens in Susanne Bier's family drama Things We Lost in the Fire.
She is to reunite with Monster's Ball co-star Billy Bob Thornton in John Singleton's Tulia, currently in pre-production.
