Singer/actor Harry Belafonte and actress Maureen O'hara are set to be honoured at the Governors Awards later this year (14).

The Carmen Jones star will receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, which is given to "an individual in the motion picture industry whose humanitarian efforts have brought credit to the industry," while O'Hara will be feted with an honorary Academy Award at the Grand Ballroom at Hollywood and Highland in Los Angeles on 8 November (14).

Announcing the new honours on Thursday (28Aug14), Academy president Cheryl Boone Isaacs said, "The Governors Awards allow us to reflect upon not the year in film, but the achievements of a lifetime.

"We're absolutely thrilled to honour these outstanding members of our global filmmaking community and look forward to celebrating with them in November."
