All three of the original leading cast who have helped make the Harry Potter franchise among the most successful British films of all-time have agreed to appear in the last two instalments.

That is the message coming out of Warner Brothers studio, with Daniel Radcliffe set to be joined by co-stars Rupert Grint and Emma Watson in The Half-Blood Prince and the last film, The Deathly Hallows.

Watson, who plays Hermione Grainger in the film, had reportedly been reluctant to commit to the last two films as she was becoming weary of playing the same role.

However, with Radcliffe already on board and Grint also keen to continue, Watson has issued a statement confirming her plans.

The 16-year-old commented: "I could never let Hermione go - she is my hero!"

"I love her too much and love what playing her has meant to me. I am excited and honoured to be finishing what I started and playing her in all seven of the films."

The actors, who have grown with their roles since the first film aired in 2001 when they weren't even in their teens, will now appear in The Half-Blood Prince in late 2008.

The Deathly Hallows will follow, but first author Jk Rowling will release the book the last in the phenomenally successful series to eager readers across the world in July.
