Teleportation thriller Jumper has soared to the top of the US box office after its first three days on release.
The Hayden Christensen actioner took $27.2 million (£13.9 million) in its opening weekend, with US cinemagoers flocking to the movies as part of the President's Day holiday.
Also featuring Samuel L Jackson, Rachel Bilson and Jamie Bell, the film sees Star Wars actor Christensen as young loner David, who finds his life transformed by his ability to teleport (jump) from place to place, only for a shady cult to jeopardise his very existence.
Energetic sequel Step Up 2 The Streets took second place in its opening weekend with $19.7 million (£10.1 million) in box office receipts while literary adaptation The Spiderwick Chronicles opened in third spot with $19.1 million (£9.7 million).
With three entries grabbing the podium spots, last week's number one, Fool's Gold, fell to fourth.
Definitely, Maybe, the romantic comedy starring Ryan Reynolds, Isla Fisher, Rachel Weisz and Elizabeth Banks, was the other new entry in the top ten, claiming fifth spot.
