Heath Ledger 's former partner, Michelle Williams has spoken about the difficulties that she has faced since his death, in an interview with GQ Magazine. The Golden Globe winning actress was asked in the interview if she ever imagined that she and Heath would get back together. Clearly emotional, she answered "That would make me way too sad to answer" before adding: "I said it would make me too sad to answer but it's also one of my favorite things to imagine. It's actually one of my favorite places to visit."
Williams also regrets that she was unable to provide any brothers or sisters for her and Heath's daughter, Matilda. When she heard of Ledger's passing, she said that her primary concern was to protect Matilda from the press who were camped outside her house: "It was making me crazy. I felt like I was going crazy... I just felt trapped. And it's not just me - there's somebody else who I'm trying to protect, and I can't. I can't make it stop, I can't make it go away. Trying to find ways to explain it or shield her from it. It's like you're trying to go about your life, and make dinner...but the roof is off of your house, and the walls are falling down."
Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams met whilst they were both working on Brokeback Mountain. Williams fell pregnant not long after the filming of the movie. After they had split, the actor died of an overdose in January 2008. Last weekend, Michelle won a Golden Globe for her role in the upcoming movie My Week With Marilyn.
