Berenice Marlohe is set to star in the new James Bond film.

The French actress and newcomer Helen McCrory have landed roles in the movie - believed to be titled 'Skyfall' - after a successful screen test for director Sam Mendes.

Her role has not yet been specified, and it is not known if she will be on the side of Bond, played for the third time by Daniel Craig, or against him.

Casting is set to come to a close soon as the film will begin production next month, the Daily Mail reports.

Alongside Daniel and Berenice, others set to appear in the film include Ben Whishaw - in an as-yet-unknown character - and Naomie Harris, who is believed to be playing the long-serving character Ms Moneypenny.

Dame Judi Dench is reprising her role as British spy boss M, and Javier Bardem and Ralph Fiennes are thought to be playing the lead bad guys.

Confirming he had been approached, Javier said the role was very different from the usual villain seen in the film franchise.

He claimed: "They're changing the whole dynamic. I'd be playing Bond's nemesis, yes, but it's not that obvious. Everything is more nuanced. It's very intriguing."
