Henry Cavill fans got their first look at the British actor in full 'Superman' attire after Warner Bros released an official shot for the upcoming 'Man of Steel' movie on Thursday (4th July 2011). The superhero appears to have undergone a distinct transformation for Zack Snyder's hotly anticipated flick, reports Los Angeles Times.
In the new image, Superman wears an armour-like suit, as opposed to the spandex costume favoured by the likes of Christopher Reeve in the original movie. However, the new attire is still traditional enough to contain the cape and trademark 'S' on the chest. The release of the shot comes just days after Laurence Fishburne was cast as 'Daily Planet' newsman Perry White for the new film. Hollywood actress Amy Adams will portray Lois Lane, while veterans Diane Lane and Kevin Costner will play Clark Kent's adoptive parents Martha and Jonathan. Elsewhere, Michael Shannon of 'Boardwalk Empire' fame will portray the evil General Zod and Christopher Meloni plays 'Colonel Hardy'.
Henry Cavill was the surprise choice for 'Man of Steel' when the casting was announced back in January. He is perhaps best known for his role in Bbc historical drama 'The Tudors'.
