Holly Valance and Alex Jones reached the end of the line on the UK's 'Strictly Come Dancing' this week - the former soap star and television host finding themselves in the bottom two of the competition after the public vote this weekend meaning they agonisingly miss out on the final by just one week. Instead, it will be Valance's fellow Australian Jason Donovan, McFly member Harry Judd and actress Chelsea Healey who will contest the final hurdle set to take place in the UK seaside town of Blackpool.
The UK's Daily Mirror reports that Valance was gracious in defeat; the actress-turned-singer hadn't had the easiest of rides in the competition with professional partner Artem Chigvintsev briefly having to be replaced by Brendan Cole after the Russian injured his back during rehearsals and she was philosophical, contemplating "I am not disappointed. I am just grateful to get this far, 11 out of 12 weeks ain't bad, nothing to sniff at . I would like to [continue dancing and] take some ballet classes. I enjoyed my Swan Lake and we did a lot of balletic stuff in that."
Jones for her part was equally magnanimous, stating "I've had an incredible time and when I'm old and grey I'll look back at these three months." It leaves the final three to contest a final of a series that's been arguably the Bbc's most successful yet as it repeatedly knocked bitter Saturday night TV rival 'X Factor UK' from the top spot of the ratings.
