The Bible: Already Out On Home Video
In what is perhaps the fastest turn-around from TV series to home-video release in history, 20th Century Fox Home Video has released the History Channel's 10-hour miniseries The Bible on DVD ($59.95) and Blu-ray Disc ($69.95). The final episode of the series aired on Easter Sunday -- only a week ago. Despite airing opposite the season finale of AMC's The Walking Dead and the season doubt of HBO's Game of Thrones, the final episode of the Bible attracted 13.1 million viewers -- extraordinary for a basic-cable TV show. Even before the final episode aired, a novelization of the series was released -- and religious websites on Sunday were already offering a packaged version of the series -- i.e., book and video. The four-disc set includes several Extras, including Believing in Miracles, in which cast and crew members describe spiritual incidents that they say transpired while they were filming the series.
