Notorious shock jock Howard Stern has been unveiled as Piers Morgan's replacement on hit U.S. TV show America's Got Talent.
Morgan announced he would be stepping down as a judge last month (Nov11) and rumours were rife about who would join Howie Mandel and Sharon Osbourne on the talent series.
Stern confirmed his appointment on his daily satellite show on Thursday morning (15Dec11), and he's looking forward to taking up his new TV role in February (12), when the auditions for the next season begin.
He joked to listeners, "I'm going to be Piers on steroids. It's going to be a no-nonsense judge... I'm going to go there as a serious judge... It's gonna be something else... I am very excited. I will find the next superstar."
But Stern is adamant he'll take his new role seriously, adding, "This nonsense of Howie and Sharon putting through less than talented people has got to stop. Under my administration there will be no Frank Sinatra impersonators winning for the year. If people think I'm the crazy man, I am not. I am the voice of reason. Goofy acts are not going through."
