Howard Stern 's been taking the Ptc's outrage at his forthcoming involvement on 'America's Got Talent' in good spirit, joking to the Today show "What a crazy idea, to put me on a family show - someone on NBC should be fired for that." Renowned shock jockey Stern's hiring by the show has led to consternation on a large scale, with advertisers told that anyone thinking of buying time on the show could see a boycott of their products. It all seems a little like a storm in a teacup to be honest, and Stern seemed to agree when being interviewed.
"I'm not going on the show to disrupt the beauty of 'America's Got Talent' - cause I love the show," Stern insisted, continuing "I merely wanted to go on and be a very serious judge, and what we found as we travelled all over the country that it turns out, I'm the judge that everyone agrees with."
That said, Stern said he wouldn't be going easy on people just for the sake of it, commenting "I watch 'American Idol' sometimes, and those three judges, they don't have a word of criticism, and I think that's selfish. I think you owe it to the contestants to offer criticism," and of the groups protesting his signing? "Nbc should pay them millions of dollars," he laughed. "The more they keep issuing the statements it makes me seem more interesting and controversial."
