Hugh Grant has signed up to star in a new romantic comedy.

The British actor - who is best-known for playing foppish Brits in movies including 'Bridget Jones' Diary and 'About A Boy' - will team up with writer and director Marc Lawrence on a new movie, which has yet to be titled.

It will be the fourth time the pair have collaborated together following work on 'Two Weeks Notice', 'Music and Lyrics' and 'Did You Hear About The Morgans?'.

The untitled movie sees Hugh play the role of a Hollywood writer who is the toast of the town in 1998, but finds himself broke and depressed 10 years later.

To make some extra cash he takes a teaching job, and falls in love with one of the single mothers whose child attends the school.

It is likely to be a return to form for Hugh, who in recent years has been trying out new roles with a voiceover part in 'The Pirates! In An Adventure With Scientists' and playing a part in multi-dimensional time drama 'Cloud Atlas'.
