A planned TV show on Hugh Hefner's wedding will go ahead with a 'Runaway Bride' theme.

Two-hour special 'Marrying Hef' was due to air on the Lifetime channel in the US on July 13 but has now been postponed to a later date in order to accommodate the change in the Playboy founder's circumstances after fiancee Crystal Harris, 25, dumped him before their big day.

Hugh tweeted: "The marriage special planned for Lifetime TV is now going to have a "runaway bride" theme & will air in July.

"Holly & Kendra were here today lending their emotional support as we shot for the Lifetime TV special.

"I'll let everyone know the date of the Lifetime special as soon as it's established."

Although Hugh was left reeling by Crystal's decision to call off the wedding less than a week before the planned nuptials on June 18, he has since shown good humour about the split.

The July issue of Playboy magazine had been printed with Crystal on the cover wearing her ex-fiance's trademark sailor cap and holding a pipe along with the caption "introducing Mrs Crystal Hefner".

Rather than pull the magazine from newsstands, the 85-year-old media mogul arranged for a sticker which read "Runaway Bride In This Issue" to be placed on each copy.
