Hugh Jackman believes beginning his career at 30 stopped him being an "a*shole".
The 'Real Steel' actor said - who is known for action roles in movies including 'X-Men' and 'Wolverine' - believes starting as a waiter stopped him from ever becoming arrogant about his position when he achieved success.
He said: "I think it probably helped getting my first movie job when I was 30. By then you're pretty much established as an a*shole or not.
"I'd waited enough tables by that point to appreciate what I was given."
The 42-year-old actor - who is set to film the follow up movie by Oscar-winning director Tom Hooper, 'Les Miserables', later this year - also attributes his level-headedness to his wife of 15 years Deborra-lee Furness.
He said: "I have a great marriage and I'm forever grateful for that. I'm really lucky I met her before any of this happened, because I think it's really hard to meet someone once you're famous."
"In the long term things have worked out pretty well," he concludes.
'Real Steel' will be out in cinemas on October 14th.
