Hulk Hogan's former best friend Bubba The Love Sponge and his ex-wife Heather Clem have been ordered to hand over his sex tape.

The wrestling legend was captured on surveillance camera romping with Heather and the footage shows the pair engaged in various sexual acts, which was later leaked on the internet.

Hulk claimed in 2012 that they filmed him without his consent, but later dropped the case, although he is still pursuing his $100 million lawsuit against New York-based Gawker Media, who posted the x-rated film on their website.

Bubba and Heather have now been told by a judge to hand over the film, along with any private messages they have received after it leaked on online.

A source told RadarOnline.com that Bubba and Heather must produce ''all documents in [Bubba's] possession, custody or control, including without limitation audio files and private Twitter messages, if any, pertaining to the Terry (Hulk Hogan) Bollea video'', for the case, which will be heard in a Florida court.

The judge will look for any content relevant to the lawsuit by watching the tape and will reportedly work with a court reporter to transcribe information which will later be distributed to the parties involved in the case.

Bubba has also been ordered to take pictures of the bedroom where the sex tape was filmed and to ''preserve all audio and/or video footage that depicts any sexual activity...''

The DJ - who is believed to feature at the end of the tape bragging about how he could sell the footage - previously apologised for claiming Hulk knew they were being filmed and could have released the tape himself.

He said: ''After further investigation, I am now convinced that Hulk Hogan was unaware of the presence of the recording device in my bedroom.

''I am convinced he had no knowledge that he was being taped. Additionally, I am certain that he had no role in the release of the video.''
