Norman Cook is planning to release a single under another alias.

The 48-year-old musician holds the record for having the most top 40 singles with more different acts than anyone else - his previous musical Incarnations include The Housemartins, Fatboy Slim, Pizzaman and Brighton Port Authority - and is planning yet another musical direction, though he is unsure how successful it will be.

He told BANG Showbiz: "I've got the record in the top 40 hits with seven different incantations. There might be an eighth but whether it gets in the top 40 or not these days is debatable, so watch this space."

On Monday (24.10.11), Norman was presented with the Inspiration accolade at The Q Awards and admits sometimes receiving prizes for career achievements can be a "worry", though he was very flattered by the honour.

He said: "There's always a little worry when you get a lifetime achievement award, it's like, 'Thank you very much your time is up,' but it's nice, especially with Q, it's very traditional rock magazine and yet they put me in their 50 bands you must see before you die, so it's nice and to have Carl Cox present it, one of my oldest, dearest friends..."
