Welsh heart-throb Ioan Gruffudd was so upset his King Arthur character didn't having an onscreen love scene, he bombarded director Antoine Fuqua with requests to film one.

The actor plays LANCELOT opposite Keira Knightley's QUEEN GUINEVERE, who legend says was involved in a love triangle with her husband KING ARTHUR and the knight.

But the new movie version omits these events.

Gruffudd explains, "I was upset. When I read the script I was like, 'Fantastic, where's the romance bit? Oh, there isn't one.'

"Every day I tried to convince Fuqua. He was having none of it."
