Rocker Jack White has launched a new partnership with the bosses at Memphis, Tennessee's fabled Sun Records to reissue classic tracks from the label's catalogue.

Through his Third Man Records company in Nashville, White plans to press tunes by Rufus Thomas, the Prisonaires and Johnny Cash as limited edition vinyl releases later this month (May13).

Music mogul Sam Phillips opened Sun Records for business in 1952 and the label helped launch Elvis Presley's career. Cash, Roy Orbison, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis also recorded classic tracks at Sun.

The three single reissues that will be released on 21 May (13) to launch the new partnership will be Thomas' Bear Cat, the Prisonaires' Just Walking in the Rain and Cash's 1956 song Get Rhythm.
