Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi has been arrested after a police raid on his home.
Panahi, a vocal supporter of anti-government opposition leader Mirhossein Mousavi, was held at his home in Tehran, Iran, with his wife, daughter and 15 guests on Monday (01Mar10).
Authorities searched his home and some of his personal belongings were seized, according to Mousavi's website Kaleme.
His son Panah Panahi says, "About 10 on Monday evening, several plainclothes agents broke into the house," adding that the agents took the group to an unknown location.
The director backed Mousavi last year (09) as the politician ran in the controversial presidential election.
He was detained in the summer (09) after attending a memorial for a slain protestor, and allegedly banned from flying to the Berlin Film Festival in Germany in February (10).
