Reggae star Jah Cure has been disqualified from Britain's Music Of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards after organisers were informed about his rape conviction.
The musician, real name Siccature Alcock, was nominated in this year's (11) Best Reggae Act category, alongside Alborosie, Khago, Mavado and Damian Marley & Nas.
But organisers have ruled he's ineligible for the prize after learning about his conviction and the "severity of the crime", according to Britain's The Sun.
The 32-year-old star was arrested in his native Jamaica in 1998 on charges of gun possession, robbery and rape and put behind bars the following year (99) after he was found guilty.
He was released in 2007.
