Jake Gyllenhaal's new Los Angeles police drama End Of Watch and creepy thriller House At The End Of The Street have tied for first place at the U.S. box office.

Both films edged out Clint Eastwood and Justin Timberlake's new sports movie Trouble With the Curve to claim joint number one spots with $13 million (£8.1 million) opening weekend takes.

Meanwhile, Karl Urban's new 3D Judge Dredd movie failed to dent the top five - a weak $6.3 million (£3.9 million) left it stranded in sixth place.
