Jakob Dylan doesn't think his father Bob Dylan has affected his success.

The Wallflowers frontman doesn't think there are downsides to having such a famous father, but equally doesn't believe he is the reason why the group have so many fans.

He said: ''I don't think I could call it a blessing or a curse [having him as a father], I can just speak from my own experiences. I certainly don't think it's had an effect on my career, I mean, I don't think the people who listen to the band do so because of my dad.''

Jakob knows people will always be interested in stories of his family life, and while he doesn't mind, he won't give over too many details - unless he is asked the ''right questions''.

He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: ''Yeah I get asked about my dad a lot, but it is what it is. I don't get tired of it but I think people don't always ask the right questions. There are some interesting stories there that I could tell, but I just don't get asked.''

The Wallflowers' latest album, 'Glad All Over', is out now.
