James Franco says starring in 'Spring Breakers' ''wasn't hard at all''.

The 35-year-old actor played Alien, a rapper and gangster, in the comedy drama movie alongside Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Benson and he couldn't believe his luck at landing a part starring opposite such a bevy of beauties.

Speaking to Nuts magazine, he said: ''They were great. Let's be honest, it wasn't hard at all. I think the casting director did an amazing job.

''He picked all the right people. I think I've been waiting for a movie like this to be a part of.

''I don't know ... it was sort of effortless. We just rolled with it. It was fun!''

At one point in the motion picture, James' character Alien launches into a version of Britney Spears' 2004 hit 'Everytime', and the '127 Hours' star admits he spent hours attempting to perfect his impersonation of the blonde singer.

He explained: ''The Britney Spears scene was something that was integral to the style of the film.

''I just practised the song in my trailer. I don't sound anything like her, obviously!

''But I just tried it - and the ladies helped me out, too.''
