Fresh-faced Scottish actor James McAvoy was left surprised on the set of new movie STARTER FOR TEN, because he was a senior cast member for the first time. The 28-year-old's character BRIAN is torn between two women in the film, played by newcomers ALICE EVE and REBECCA HALL, aged 25 and 24 respectively. And for MCAvoy, more used to supporting veteran actors such as Forest Whitaker in THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND, this proved a strange turnaround. He says, "It did (seem a bit strange). I've been doing this for seven years now so I'm not the new kid on the block any more. It's odd, really strange. "Working with Alice and Rebecca, being so bright and shiny and new and brilliant, I did feel like the old man of the set."
