Jane Fonda's boyfriend Lynden Gillis has hit back at tabloid claims he has been dumped because he failed to support the actress through the death of her half-sister. The National Enquirer alleges Fonda, 70, ended her year-long relationship with the retired 75 year old and checked herself into a Florida hospital, following the death in Rome, Italy, of her 80-year-old sister Pan, from her mother's first marriage. A source tells the tabloid, "Jane began making calls in the middle of the night to get herself to Rome for the funeral. She began berating Lynden, saying he wasn't being supportive enough. Jane told him their romance was over." But Gillis insists Fonda attended the Rome funeral alone "because we could only get one ticket", adding, "Jane has said publicly that she likes our arrangement where we spend only half our time together." The pair quashed rumours further when they attended a movie screening in New York on Monday (1Apr08) night, arm in arm.
