Janet Jackson's ex-boyfriend Jermaine Dupri has fuelled rumours she is taking a backseat from music - insisting the singer has no new album in the pipeline.
The All For You hitmaker sparked fears she had given up on music, following the relatively poor sales of her tenth album Discipline.
Jackson quickly responded to the reports, insisting: "I read somewhere that I'm not planning to make more albums; that's not true. I love singing and performing too much to give them up."
But superproducer Dupri - who split from Jackson last year (09) - is adamant the singer has decided albums are not a sound financial investment, and has no plans to record another.
He tells Vibe.com, "I can tell you that she's not working on an album. We just did the one song 'Nothing' for the 'Why Did I Get Married Too?' soundtrack.
"Last time I heard she really didn't want to do an album. She wanted to just do singles every once in a while. She's looked at the marketplace - albums are not really doing what they usually do when you put all this budget out there. Janet is just trying to figure out her landscape."
