Pop superstar Janet Jackson has signed a new management deal, following a tumultuous year in the public eye.

Los Angeles-based firm WRIGHT CREAR MANAGEMENT, which also handles the Backstreet Boys and rapper Chingy, will oversee the singer's career, which hit a rough patch this year (04).

Her televised "wardrobe malfunction" during the Super Bowl half-time show on 1 February (04) ignited a public outcry.

While Jackson insisted her breast exposure at the end of her duet with Justin Timberlake was an error, critics brushed it off as a publicity stunt to promote her then-forthcoming album DAMITA JO. But singles from the album died quickly on the radio, and the collection enjoyed only a brief shelf life after its release in March (04).

Jackson has had no formal management for a number of months. Until the spring (04), she was handled by LINDSAY SCOTT MANAGEMENT in Los Angeles.
