The long-awaited Janis Joplin biopic is back on with Tony Award-winning actress Nina Arianda slated to play the tragic singer.
Pink, Renee Zellweger and Zooey Deschanel have all been linked to a Joplin film in recent years, but now it looks like director Sean Durkin has the fast track on the film and he has snapped up the 2102 Tony winner as his leading lady.
The low-budget film will chronicle the last six months of the Piece of my Heart singer's life, according to Deadline.com.
Arianda's film history includes Midnight in Paris and Tower Heist, but she really made her mark in the hit play Venus in Furs, opposite Hugh Dancy.
