Jared Leto has revealed he ''flirted'' to get his role in 'Dallas Buyers Club' with Matthew McConaughey.
Jared Leto ''flirted'' to get his part in 'Dallas Buyers Club'.
The 30 Seconds to Mars frontman auditioned for the role of transgender AIDS victim Rayon via Skype and made sure he made a lasting impression on the casting director.
He said: ''I was in Berlin and there was a Skype meeting set up with the director, Jean-Marc Valee. It was a test so I used it as an opportunity.
''I got some lipstick and as soon as we connected I said, 'Hello' and that was the last time he saw me as me. I put the lipstick on and he was stunned. I undid the little black jacket I had on and had a little pink furry sweater pulled over my shoulder, then I proceeded to basically flirt with him for the next 20 minutes.
''I woke up the next day with the part, so it worked. A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!''
The director was left feeling ''uncomfortable'' by the audition, but knew instantly that Jared was the right person for the role.
Jared's co-star Matthew Mcconaughey said: ''Just after that, I got a call from Jean. He said, 'Do you know this actor Jared Leto? I just Skyped with him and he hit on me He was feeling me up through the screen! I don't know, it was very uncomfortable but I think we found Rayon.' It worked.''
