Jason Derulo, the American singer currently promoting his second album 'Future History', has denied he is in a relationship with American Idol winner Jordin Sparks. A Us Weekly story had 'confirmed' the pair were indeed an item, but Derulo used an interview this week to set the record straight.
Speaking to CbsNews.com, Jason was asked to comment on the alleged relationship, to which he replied, "Jordin Sparks is an absolute sweetheart. She's a very nice girl. We've been friends for a while now. We're just friends". Although some fans have claimed Derulo was merely directing attention from the relationship, the singer appeared adamant the pair were not dating. The original story claimed Derulo had begun a relationship with Sparks following her dramatic weight loss, with an insider saying Jason saw her "in a whole new light" during a recent trip to the Bahamas, adding, "She lost over 30 pounds and looks amazing - and he told her. It started there and they have been really reconnecting, now as lovers and not just friends".
The 'Ridin Solo' singer released his latest album on 26th September 2011 - the lead single 'Don't Wanna Go Home' landed the No.1 spot on the UK charts and No. 5 in Australia.
