Jason Derulo has revealed how his girlfriend Jordin Sparks saved him from spiralling into depression, after he suffered a serious spine injury. Derulo finally got the chance to remove his neck brace a few weeks ago and told Fox 411's Pop Tarts column "Just (Jordin) being there when she could have been anywhere else in the world was an impact for me," he said. "I guess the best way to put it is that she was the backbone to the situation, a lot of people get really low into crazy depression and stuff like that but when you have someone it makes everything so much better."
In January, Derulo fractured his vertebrae after landing on his head during rehearsals for his world tour. Talking about the last few months since the accident, Derulo also explained "This experience was crazy because I could literally not be standing here right now. I could really be in a wheelchair or not be here at all in the situation. It taught me to love life and live everyday like it's your last." Having shaken off the neck brace, Jason has now had the pleasure of being able to perform again, singing his song 'Undefeated' at the America Idol finale. "I am two weeks removed [from the neck brace] and tonight's performance was invigorating," he told Fox411. "It was like a second chance at life, I had a great time up there."
Jordin Sparks has just released a duet that she performed with Whitney Houston. The track, 'Celebrate' is a disco-inspired number and is being aired ahead of the release of the movie 'Sparkle,' starring both singers. 'Celebrate' is the last recording that Whitney made before she passed away in February 2012.
