Jason Segel will not be returning to film another 'Muppets' movie.

The 'How I Met Your Mother' actor - who played the role of Gary in the picture, as well as working as an executive producer and writer - is glad to have had a part in the musical puppet project, but is keen to move on to other things.

He told Collider.com: ''My goal was to bring 'The Muppets' back and I did that leaving them in very good hands, my writing partner and James Bobin the director. I did what I set out to do, and now I wanna pursue more human-related projects.''

However Jason - who starred alongside Amy Adams as the main human character in the well-received movie starring Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog - may return in some behind-the-scenes capacity.

He added: ''All I wanted to do was to set the stage for them to do whatever they wanted. I'm sure I'll return in some capacity here and there, but that was half a decade of my life. Five years of hard work. I'm ready for a little puppet break.''

James Bobin and fellow writer Nick Stoller have already been set up to create a sequel to the film, which has so far grossed $153 million worldwide.
