Actor Javier Bardem joined hundreds of protesters on the streets of Madrid, Spain on Thursday (19Jul12) to rally against planned austerity measures threatening the country's cultural sector.
The No Country for Old Men star, who is married to Penelope Cruz, and his older brother Carlos walked through the city to demonstrate against the government's decision to slash spending and raise consumption tax rates on art and culture.
The Bardems marched under a banner which read, "Culture is not a luxury".
