Jay Z's producer pal Just Blaze spent the early hours of Memorial Day (28May12) behind bars after he was cuffed and jailed in Paris, France.
The beatmaker, real name Justin Smith, found himself detained by Parisian police late on Sunday (27May12) after a rowdy night out, but cops allowed him to keep hold of his cell phone and he was able to tell fans all about his experience in a series of posts on Twitter.com.
Smith wrote, "I'm really in like.. Jail. Yes. I am tweeting. And yes I am in jail. in Paris. They are being cool and letting me keep my phone for now.
"They are asking me things I cant (sic) answer...I stopped French accelerated classes when I was 10..Handcuffs. I'm being cool about it. For those that have never had them. They hurt. And are very dehumanizing."
The top producer failed to reveal the reason why he was taken into custody, but he was released hours later, early on Monday (28May12), and updated fans about his status, tweeting, "I'm getting out of here.. No fines... Ok I'm officially being let go for now. Thank you all for the support!"
Suggesting the arrest was the result of his hard partying, he added, "BalledTooHard", referring to a lyric from Jay Z and Kanye West's hit party anthem N**gas In Paris.
