Beth Ditto married her long-term girlfriend Kristin Ogata on Tuesday (23.07.13).

The couple - who got engaged in April 2012 - exchanged vows in Maui, Hawaii, in a picturesque ceremony with their altar decorated white flowers and chandeliers.

The newlyweds - who have now returned home - posted a message on Beth's band The Gossip's Facebook page, which read: ''At long last, now that we have returned home and recovered from all the amazingness and had some time to bask in the afterglow, we are excited to share with you a pic or two from Beth and Kristin's wedding! (sic)''

As promised there was an image attached of Beth and Kristin smiling broadly as they walked down the aisle.

A barefoot Beth wore a knee-length Jean Paul Gaultier gown, while her wife Kristin was in a three-piece suit - with shorts instead of trousers - and both of them had flower garlands slung over their shoulders.

Their joint post added: ''So much love and appreciation to all of our family and friends who celebrated with us! And a huge thank you to Jean Paul Gaultier for the dream-come-true dress!''

Following the announcement, the designer sent his best wishes to the couple, posting on Twitter: ''Congratulations to the newlyweds! All the best for Beth an Kristin! Love, JPG.''

The pair met when Kristin was working as a personal assistant for Beth but didn't embark on a romantic relationship for several years and not until after the 'Standing in the Way of Control' singer's assistant had split from her transgender partner Freddie Fagula in January 2010 .

Speaking previously about her feelings for Kristin, Beth said: ''It was something that I kept hidden deep inside of me. But everyone knew. Even people are parties and clubs would be like, 'When are they (me and Kristen) going to get together?' There was always a little guilt inside of me because I felt I was cheating, but I never cheated. We never did anything ... I dated Freddie for nine years, and I was always worried it was going to end. With Kristen I never worry about it ending, I just feel completely full and whole.''
