Jean Paul Gaultier is separating from Aeffe SpA.

The French designer has ended his partnership with the Italian luxury goods group after having worked with them for since the mid-90s and entrusting Aeffe to produce his signature collections.

It's expected an official announcement from the distributor and manufacturer Aeffe will be made later today (22.10.12), WWD is reporting.

Aeffe has lucrative production deals with several of the top fashion houses including Moschino, Pollini, Cacharel, Cedric Carlier and Alberta Ferretti as well as diffusion label, Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti.

The company recently struck a deal with Emanuel Ungaro to produce and distribute its women's clothing and accessories.

It is not yet known what Gaultier's next move will be.

The designer took Paris Fashion Week by storm last month with a 1980s-style show that featured celebrity lookalikes dressed as Madonna, Grace Jones, Boy George and Michael Jackson sporting his spring/summer 2013 collection.

Karlie Kloss donned Boy George-inspired clothing while Jourdan Dunn strutted her stuff on the runway as Sade, while a Madonna wannabe donned a sexy leather dominatrix cage-dress.
