Jeff Goldblum has been granted a three year restraining order against a woman who has repeatedly tried to contact him for the past decade. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Carol Boas Goodson issued the order on Tuesday (June 12, 2012), ordering Linda Ransom to stay away from the 'Jurassic Park' actor for three years, reports the Associated Press.
Ms Ransom had claimed she was trying to pursue a case against one of Goldblum's employees, though the Judge told her it didn't give her the right to repeatedly arrive at the actor's home and try to meet him at public performances, saying, "This harassment is going to stop.I must say you are acting irrationally in court.Mr. Goldblum does not want you near him". Ms Ransom must now stay 100 yards away from the actor and his home. Goldblum had initially secured a temporary restraining order in May after the woman began turning up at his home. In a sworn declaration, the actor explained, "Over the past decade, I have experienced substantial emotional distress due to Ms. Ransom's continuous stalking, harassing, and threatening behaviour".
Ransom has reportedly been arrested three times for violating previous restraining orders and has been placed in psychiatric care. Goldblum first alerted authorities to Ms Ransom in 2001 after she attended one of his acting classes before waiting outside of his home.
