Jenna Dewan-Tatum says French fries were like ''Kryptonite'' during her pregnancy.

The actress gave birth to her first child, Everly, with husband Channing Tatum in May, and although she didn't pig out while she was expecting, she couldn't resist fried potato treats, comparing them to the fictional material which is the only weakness of Superman.

She told Us Weekly: ''I think a lot of women find out they're pregnant and are like, 'Let's go crazy and eat ice cream every day!'

''To me, it was, 'I'm growing a human being, and I want to give this little soul the best nutrition I can.'

''[But] I could not get enough [French fries]. They were completely my Kryptonite.''

Jenna, 33, also added losing weight wasn't a priority after she gave birth to Everly, saying: ''I didn't think much about losing weight. I was overwhelmed and in love with my baby.''

However, the star - who is a vegetarian - says she kept to her usual diet and did plenty of dancing, as well as four 90-minute workouts a week.

She added: ''I thought, 'I've worked out and danced my whole, it will all fall into place.' Working out kept me sane. I would feel a burst of energy and all my hormones would regulate.''
