Jennifer Lopez has officially been confirmed as a judge on the new series of American Idol, but has rejected claims that her list of diva demands almost put the deal into jeopardy, reports US Magazine. 41-year-old Lopez is understood to have been chased by Fox bosses for some time to appear on the show, but the singer has now signed on the dotted line, and will make up a new look judge's panel that also includes Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler.
When asked at the press conference about rumours of her demands, Lopez said, "I'm used to it. I'm used to speculation. I wasn't really worried about it. I was just looking forward to getting started." However, executive producer of the show Nigel Lythgoe joked "I said to Jennifer today, we heard that she only likes yellow M&Ms. I'm thinking, 'who's going to pick them all out for her?"
The new series of American Idol will be the show's tenth, and is due to premiere in January 2011, Lopez said she promises plenty of "tough love" but admits that she will find it difficult to criticise performances, saying, "I don't think I will ever, as an artist, put down another artist."
