Jennifer Lopez may not have made her up her mind about whether or not to stay on American Idol but a recent interview suggests that she's erring on the side of leaving. Lopez was talking to Natalie Morales on the Today show, to promote Ice Age: Continental Drift when Morales asked her about her intentions with regards to the TV talent show.
Clearly speaking from the heart, Lopez told Morales "The truth is ... I've enjoyed it so much, but I am thinking it's maybe time for me to go and do other things I really love to do like films ... and performing. This has been a great journey, but then again I love the show so... all I can tell you is what I'm thinking." This isn't the first time that Lopez has said that she will probably leave the show. In May, she was a guest on Ellen Degeneres' show and told the chat show host "I don't know if I can go for a third year. I miss doing other things. It really does lock you down, which was nice the first year."
Meanwhile, rumors are abound that former Idol star Adam Lambert could be landing himself the job, if Lopez were to vacate the chair. A source from the show told E! Online that the show's producers reckon Lambert is the perfect choice for the show: "They have been talking about Adam for over a month. He personifies the show, and will be a popular choice right from the start. He knows what it's like to be on the receiving end of the judges' comments, he has a human touch, and they know they can't go wrong if they bring him on. He would be able to bring a unique perspective to the show. People love him."
