British TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson has been cleared by Bbc watchdogs after viewers complained about biblical references he made in a show last year (10).
Clarkson, who hosts motoring programme Top Gear, was seen attempting and failing to walk on water and alleging he is able to cure the sick in a special Christmas edition of the show.
The scenes caused outraged, with several viewers complaining that Clarkson "mocked and ridiculed" Jesus Christ, leading to an investigation by watchdogs.
But the Bbc Trust's Editorial Standards Committee has ruled in the show's favour.
A statement reads, "It was clear from the tone that none of the biblical references were intended to be taken seriously."
