Jesse Eisenberg is mistaken for Michael Cera ''all the time'' - and says he finds it ''annoying''.
Jesse Eisenberg is sick of being mistaken for Michael Cera.
The 27-year-old actor - who, like the 'Scott Pilgrim Vs The World' star, often plays the geeky underdog in movies - says being mistaken for someone else is "annoying".
He said: "People recognise me all the time as him. It's annoying. I don't like getting recognised as other people."
However the 'Social Network' star - who bears a close resemblance to 22-year-old Michael - says his older fan base never have trouble realising who he is, revealing that "mostly grandmothers on the Upper West Side [in New York]" approach him.
He said: "They want to spread their lipstick on my cheek."
Yet Jesse - who has been dating his girlfriend Anna, six years his senior, for four years - claims his rise to fame hasn't made him any more popular with younger women because his work load means he doesn't get to meet new people.
He explained to The Independent newspaper: "I have been working so much. I imagine there are people, who, when they become part of a popular movie, find themselves meeting a lot of new people. But that hasn't been the case with me."
